Living in Worcester Park and having become a pensioner in March 2015, I am most thankful for the free bus pass. However, being outside the London region (just) I am not eligible for the Freedom Pass to use the trains into London. I do not question this but wondered if there was a reasonably direct BUS route from Worcester Park station to eg Piccadilly/Oxford Street/South Kensington etc.

Re: my comment of August 07 (202). An oyster single ticket to Clapham Junction, then a bus almost anywhere in London. Then a single back to Worcester Park. ? £3.00.

I moved to WP from Earlsfield 5 months ago and love the area but one thing I miss is the coffee/brunch culture that Earlsfield had to offer. Last weekend the only place I could think to go with friends visiting was Costa. I feel like there is a massive gap in the market here. Does anyone else feel the same? Does anyone who of any good places that serve a good flat white and Eggs Benedict? Or if there are any plans so open such a place... Ben's Canteen opened in Earlsfield and although it is a tad over priced it was a good place for a weekend brunch treat.

Hi WP Blog! Does anyone know of a good local domestic cleaning service? Looking for recommendations as I have never had a cleaner before.
Thank you!

I wish WP was more gay and TV friendly as it would attract a more diverse modern open community and improve the local economy.

Car dumped in Longfellow Road - on the pavement by buzzy bees? Either that or the worst parking I have seen for a long time...

Malden Manor station looks like a depressing dump - skip permanently parked outside, litter strewn all over the tiny green spaces and building up behind fences. Who is responsible, is it the rail companies or the council?

Please join the facebook page "Friends of Sir Joseph Hood Memorial Playing Field" and join with the surrounding community to help the Friends of this wonderful park in Marina Avenue (just on the other side of Green Lane School in Worcester Park) raise funds to build a fantastic new Splash Pad for our children and future generations to enjoy. Come along to the half term playdate on Monday 15th February at 2pm and just enjoy playing in the park with the rest of the community! Much work has been going on behind the scenes by the Friends of Sir Joseph Hood Memorial Play fields. In the short term we are fighting hard to have the parks pool open for one more year but it is certain that in the long term the council will not be able to continue to fund the maintenance of the pool as it stands and also pretty certain that they will not fund the Splash Pad at Sir Josheph Hood MPF. In the face of this, we want to embark on a massive fund raising endeavour in the hopes that we can fund a brand new Splash Pool for 2017-2018. Work is already under way hot on the heels of the Motspur Park Mums and Minders Fun Run - with many funding options being investigated including bids for grants, local businesses being approached for sponsorship and investigation of setting up a Crowd fund raising page. We will need to raise £260,000 so the money will need to come for a variety of sources. If you would like to organise any fund raising activities we would welcome your support. If you would like to help in anyway please start immediately by getting the whole community and surrounding areas who have a vested interest behind us and SHARE OUR FACE BOOK PAGE "Friends of Sir Joseph Hood Memorial Playing Field" so that we can get the ball rolling and communicate effectively.

New kitchen anyone..?

Dear Neighbours, do any of you have any experience of Lemon & Lime interiors (Central Road) ? Considering using them for our new kitchen but can't find any reviews. If anyone knows anything good or bad it would be greatly appreciated, I'm a bit worried about potentially parting with thousands of pounds without any kind of recommendation..

Many thanks!

James

Hello all, we're looking to move in a close off Salisbury road and I was wondering if Salisbury road is too busy / noisy with cars driving by frequently? It didn't seem so the couple of times I had viewings but I'm not sure over peak hours what's happening so any help much appreciated.

Thank you!

Hello
This may seem like a bizarre question, but who should I speak to about the ice cream man who comes to Kingshill Avenue every evening, between 7 and 8pm, parks up, then whacks on the 'ice cream theme music' full blast ...??
I have 2 children and the youngest (11 months) sleeps in the little room at the front of the house. Every night she goes to bed at 6.30pm, only to be woken up by said ice cream man's mega loud music! She wakes up screaming (not for ice cream, but with sheer shock!!)
I mean who eats ice cream at that time of night??? But more to the point Kingshill Avenue is a family area, children of a certain age will be asleep, right?
I could just speak to him, woman to man. But I am not sure if he would do anything?
It is REALLY annoying.. I'm guessing other people are silently feeling my pain...
Any suggestions??

Shame on the driver's using browing avenue this morning when the road was flooded, 30 seconds after the fire brigade had put road closed tape across the road to stop traffic going through had driven off down Washington road a van drove straight through the tape along with several cars at speed causing the flood water to pour into several gardens. This was a very selfish act that could have led to damage in someone's home. I hope these inconsiderate drivers got caught up in the terrible traffic in central road and were still late for whatever they were travelling for.

Does anyone know if the coffee shop that is supposed to be opening in the old HSBC Bank in the High Street is going to be a Starbucks or Cafe Nero?

I'm fairly new to Worcester Park. I moved in at the end of February and so far I love it. I popped into Pet Place when I was new and was so upset at the way the animals are kept. Clean, but far too many birds in tiny cages and rabbits too. I left in tears so I've avoided it since. Today I had no choice but to pop in as I'm going on holiday tomorrow and forgot to order collars for my cats in case they sneak out whilst I'm gone. There are two big kittens at the back in a tiny glass viv. They look hot and lethargic. They're in a bad way, even kids banging on the glass wasn't enough to motivate them. The viv is clean but bland and they have nothing but a plastic ball for enrichment. Not that they can play or run or do anything anyway. I left crying and I've reported it to the RSPCA. I'm tempted to go back and buy them, though my own cats would hate them and I'd just be feeding the business. I'm so disappointed.

In response to Worcester Parker's post back in June. I had exactly the same problem with that ice cream van. I live in Buckland Way and he constantly woke up my kid for a year or 2. Always came between 7 and 8 at night! Luckily my kid has just turned 3 and got over it now, but he'd literally run to his gate in his gate shaking with fright at the loud music. I lodged a complaint through the Sutton council website, sending the reg number etc. Said they'd take a week to reply, but they never did.

Please does anyone know if Elmstead Gardens are having a Halloween Street party again this year? Last year was fantastic and my kids are still going on about it till this day.
Thanks
