I have been to bellini's on many occassions and think its the best italian I have eaten! The staff are lovely and welcoming. The food and service is first class and the price is very resonable for the lovely food they serve. I would also highly recommend going there! Went to eat at Bellini's last month. The food and service was first class but not much atmosphere.

Went just before Christmas when this time there was more people and a better atmosphere. The food and service again was of a first class standard. Would highly recommend as a local restaurant to go and eat.

Meghna is my favourite Indian in the area, and one of my favourites full stop. Avventura was v good, but the location is a little far from the heart of the high street (circa Costa). La Mama looks wonderful but fare is uninspiring. Would like to see more al fresco dining eg Layla in Esher.

Aged 25, WP lacks that "going out" appeal, normally losing out to Wimbledon, Kingston, Esther or London. Would only take a couple of quality eateries and a bar or 2 to change that... However sadly I cant see that happening, as a twenty something homeowner, I'm a WP minority!

My husband and I went to Meghna last week, and we both thought it was the best Indian meal we had ever had! The menu was varied, the £10.95 Gourmet Deal was excellent value, and most importantly, the food was superb. The service was great too - not rushed in any way, and the owner came and chatted to us, and recommended dishes from the menu.

We still miss Silks...and although we are 'Suttoners' we like the varied restaurants in Worcester Park. On another note, I must visit Pets Place one day and say hello to the gorgeous cat I see sleeping on the hutches as I go past on the bus...saw him in the aisle of Superdrug the other day!!!

We've lived in WP for 15 years and our two favourite eateries are:

MUNAL (Nepalese), perfect food, wife loves the chicken tikka massala whereas I have something more spicy and I've tried at least half of the menu! Great for takeaway or eat in.

SAMS kebabs at North Cheam. I've been visiting them since my teenage years, so about 20 years now! The best doner kebabs in town and I love the Chicken Kofte. They've had to move location a few times in recent years but are now back at the crossroads. Everyone needs as reliable kebab shop in their lives and you can't beat a Sams!

I have to say, I have tried most the restaurants in Worcester Park and there are few of good quality.

Munal is by far the best indian style cuisine (Nepalese). They do not not use oil in their cooking like Indians and the food is much tastier and consistent!!

Bellini's has very good food but there is no atmosphere whatsoever and the owner can be slightly annoying. I like the food but find myself so bored in there. They could do so much more, a nice bar too perhaps.

I would have to urge people to get behind the Midas Touch. The food from the evening menu is fantastic and they constantly deliver. The service is also very good.

La Mammas is poor to say the least. I have been on several occasions and it seems to get worse each time. I won't be going back.

AVVENTURA RESTAURANT
4 of us went on Sat 26/2/11, having booked via Skiddle. We were welcomed by name, & were impressed by service, ambience, quality of food & speed of delivery despite being fairly busy. The bill, including 3 bottles of very drinkable house wine, came to £120 (£30 each) for 3 courses : no complaints -we'll be back!

For fish and chips in Worcester Park, it has to be Fresh Fry in Vale Road. As they fry to order, be prepared to wait, or phone your order thru.
For Thai I can recommend the place on the Ewell-by pass, opposite Toppo Gigio's (which I can also recommend). The Thai house rose wine to excellent too.

Thanks for giving this a 'bump', WP. My family and I have fallen in love with Avventura - unfortunately, we've also noticed how though it is on the high street with many of the restaurants empty on weekdays, apart from KFC and Pizza Express.

It would be nice if Worcester Park would rally around to support the local restaurants. (Instead of the usual moaning after businesses close and, if we're lucky, are replaced by charity shops.) I would certainly argue there's a few deserving establishments out there (and one exceptional gem).

My family has happily forsaken dining out in New Malden and Kingston on weekends for a twice weekly dose of Avventura. I'm sure Munal, Bellini's, Midas Touch et al have their fan bases as well as they do serve modest fare, IMHO.

As for those who still eat at the WP Tavern - sigh. Please please please try the burgers at Midas Touch, or better still, the pizzas and pasta and Avventura!

Can I just take this opportunity to ask people to support Bellinis restaurant. No, we dont work there or know anyone who does but feel that it deserves a write up on this blog. My husband and I have eaten in all the local restaurants and this is the one which consistently delivers good food and service and we cannot understand why it is not busier during the peak weekend times. Without going into the pros and cons of local Indian / Chinese and chain restaurants,of the others we find La Mammas has an inferior menu, is inconsistent with its quality and the staff are more often than not surly and unhelpful. The Midas Touch has good food but I'm not happy sitting on a plastic bench whilst eating and Avventura when we went a couple of months ago seemed to be a creche offering food which was very overpriced considering all the noise in there, the slow staff, and sticky tables without table cloths. (They seem to have confirmed their creche status by providing a play area for children!!! If I wanted to eat with that many children on a Saturday night I would go to McDonalds where I wouldn't have to pay such high prices and I would get my food delivered hot and on time). So please give Bellinis another go, we've always found the staff very welcoming, the food as I say is always good and reasonably priced considering the quality, the wine menu although not extensive offers some great wines all bar one for under £20 a bottle. It's great and we want it to stay open for a long time to come!

Been attending 'steak night' at the H G Wells for the past few weeks as excellent meals. Have noticed over the past couple of weeks that the advertised '8oz' steaks have apparently shrunk to more like half that size. Feeling a bit miffed we strolled to the Midas Touch and got a whole 10oz steak , beautifully cooked for the same price. The midas do not offer a drink in the price, but the size of the steak make up for that. Sadly the Midas was empty ...can't think why....

Well, apparently I am never to return to La Mamma (both mine and the manager's opinion).... starter and wine were fine and my main of Veal was working well. However, my other half (better half, who knows?) had ordered king prawns. They looked lovely at a glance but were empty of content.... I mean it, the shells were empty! Complained - Yes. Eating seperate meals an option yes from the management's perspective but no from mine. A rather important evening to us was ruined and the owner/manager got very verbose. I will never enter those doors again!
