A New Road

Our latest beloved road works continue to head slowly North West towards New Malden resulting in Green Lane being blocked off at central Road. And so it would seem has a mysterious new thoroughfare known as "Green Road".

If anyone lives in or knows anyone who lives in Green Road, please get in touch so I can update my maps.

Thanks very much.

It's about time the people responsible for these shoddy mis-signs got their act together -
remember 'Carlshalton'? My theory is that the signs are constructed abroad with the order being given by phone. So by the time the finished product arrives, it's too late to change it!

Because the sign is wrong I decided I was within my rights to ignore it and carried on driving down Green Lane. I am now stuck at a barrier.

These errors in diversion signs are actually a long standing and much cherished Worcester Park tradition. It gives workmen something to do, gives local people something to complain about and most importantly gives bloggers things to take pictures of.

Probably because Google Maps to save space abbreviates Road, Street, Avenue etc and they haven't added an exception list. I wonder what they do to Street in Somerset.

Sorry, that might have been my motorcade. The security people can get overexcited when our progress is impeded.

I know someone who lives in Green Road. It is in Enfield just off the A110 .

HG Wells used an abbreviation in his first names. It was Herbert George.
