Oi You! Go And Vote...

Wake up! Wake up! It's Polling Day!

No doubt dear reader you are so exited that you can go and vote for a fresh new council today that you can barely contain yourself!

But even if that's not the case... If you've ever wanted to complain about how the borough is run or felt you weren't listened to about something, big or small, this is your one and only opportunity to actually do something about it.

I hope you'll be voting for me and my fellow Conservatives, but either way it's important to exercise your democratic right, when you have the opportunity to do so.

Oh and there are European elections on too...

Today is a rare opportunity to have our voices heard by Sutton Council and I'd strongly encourage everyone to take the opportunity vote - or accept everything will continue in the same direction (that is, get worse) for another 4 years.

Now is the opportunity to give some feedback, rather than have Sutton Council invent their own and inform you how satisfied you and everyone else around you is.

Alternatively, if you think spending thousands of your money on papering over Victoria House, breaking the glass windows in the process, ignoring residents pleas to fix it for months and having large chunks of broken glass fall onto the pavement below represents a job well done ... feel free to vote Liberal Democrat for more of the same.

Now that voting has closed, can we now please drop all the political campaigning from our local blog and go back to local news!!!!

Good idea. Let's start with an article on the local election results...

I fear it won't happen. The blog was great once but it's now a sad mess.

Lib Dems have taken all three seats (gaining one from the Tories) in Worcester Park. Hopefully now the people have spoken this blog can get back to reporting on actual local news.

Where are you seeing the ward breakdown - I can't find the ward-specific results online?

Yes please! It's all been a bit off the way the bog has been used recently.

Sutton Guardian has a live report thread, which you can look back over as it happened.
