Blog reader Carol Williams, is organising the group and the first meeting is at Christchurch with St Philip in the small upper room knows as "The Den" on Thursday the 13th March at 7pm.

"I'm starting up a new group to connect vegans and anyone interested in becoming vegan or learning more about vegan food/cooking and so on."
"It's just an informal group meeting to socialise a bit, really. I don't even know if there are any other vegans in the area but me and my friend!"
"[Meetings are] from 7pm until 8.30pm (when we have to leave the building - but there is a pub opposite...)."
"Anyone in WP or surrounding areas is welcome."

For more information see their facebook page here.
So if veganism is something that interests you but you don't know many others in the same boat and your calender is looking a bit empty next Thursday evening, you now have a solution to both problems!

I've been vegan for 14 months, I really should have done it sooner and can't think why I didn't. Now I'm keen to encourage others to go vegan too. Hopefully it won't take you over 50 years to achieve it! It's so easy now, with all the choices available and so many luscious recipes. So I'm starting the group because there isn't one locally, and I want one that I can walk to easily. I am grateful to Christchurch with St Philip for their willingness to offer me space to host the meetings and glad to have a friend, Wendy, who is a member of that church, helping me with the group. Unlike me, Wendy can bake lovely cakes! She is intending to bring along some vegan pancakes to our first meeting, as it is in Lent.
