And Two Appeals Shall Become One

As expected, the group trying to convert the old bank Chambers at 2-4 Green Lane to a Mosque have appealed the latest unanimous decision by Sutton Council not to allow this the go ahead. Notification letters from the Council seemed to land on doormats this morning (well mine and a few others anyway) announcing both the new appeal and that this would be combined with the appeal for the original ruling which has now been postponed.

The upshot of this is that the appeal that was due to be heard on Tuesday 26th November (at Strawberry Lodge in Carshalton) has been cancelled. This was the appeal of the first rejection made on 3rd December last year.

Now they have appealed  the second rejection made in September this year and the Planning Inspectorate has decided to discuss both applications under one joint appeal.

If you want to write in with comments or representations about either appeal you can send them to:
The Planning Inspectorate,
3/10 Kite Wing,
Temple Quay House,
2 The Square,
Temple Quay,
Bristol  BS1 6PN

You will need to send them three separate copies. (I can only assume their photocopier is in for repairs). Otherwise you can email them at teamp2@pins.gsi.gov.uk.

Please quote the planning appeal reference APP/P5870/A/13/2199244 (appeal of first rejection) or APP/P5870/A/13/2206647 (for the appeal of the second rejection).

Comments and representations need to be received by the 19th December.

For further details, here is the letter that was sent out:
