A Local Discount For Local People

The newly renovated Brook Pub and Eating House has introduced a 20% off all meals discount card for anyone living within the KT4 postcode area.

The innovation was brought in around the same time as they reopened as the Brook, having previously been the Midas Touch (and for those with long memories, The Huntsman's Hall).

They want to encourage local people to use their restaurant and actually, in my 'umble opinion 20% is quite a reasonable discount. This doesn't include drinks; as one of the owners said to me, they would be working for nothing if it applied to drinks as well!

To sign up and get one of these cards it's very easy... Just visit the 'sign up' page on their website which can be conveniently found here.

Sounds great, but sadly those of us in Malden Manor (KT3) don't benefit even though we are probably closer to the pub than those at the other end of KT4!

Actually makes me now reluctant to go to the pub given I'll know that everyone around me is likely to have paid 20% less!

You have a point but I am sure this is not meant to exclude any locals outside of KT4, rather the opposite. I am assuming they used the KT4 catchment rather then saying within a circle of X miles. Have you applied explaining this issue. I am sure they will issue you a discount card.

It would be a shame if you pass on trying and miss the great food.

Thanks, I've applied anyway, nowhere on the form to plead my case so let's see if I get a card in the post :)
