Time Toy Open A New Shop

A new toy shop will be opening its doors in Windsor Road this Saturday (24th August). The Toy Shed which has taken over the shop where Zahra’s restaurant used to be will open at 9:30am on Saturday.

Lots of promotional events are planned for the day including a large friendly dog character roaming the high street giving away free raffle tickets. Anyone presenting one of these tickets at the store will win a prize.

The Toy Shed Worcester Park is one of three Toy Sheds owned by Faye Bobillier. She opened her first shop in Aldershot over 12 years ago specializing in kitting out dolls houses and as the credit crunch came, she expanded into toys in general. She then opened a shop in Alton which is her largest shop and acts as a warehouse and she also has one in Whitton (near Twickenham). She has wanted to open a shop in Worcester Park for a while and has been looking for appropriate premises for over a year. This shop will replace the one in Aldershot which she decided to close recently when the lease ran out.

The Toy Shed sells drinks and old style sweets as well as a wide variety of toys and I for one am very pleased to see a new independent shop opening in Worcester Park.

I think its a lovely addition to WP. I will definitely be popping in. I might leave the kids at home initially otherwise it will cost me a fortune!

Top news. My son will love having a toy shop close to home. Anyone remember the toy shop at the top of central road years ago? What was it called?

I'd rather have Zahra's back - that was outstanding food ! Was it ever explained why the seemingly were here one day and gone the next ?

I quite agree - I was hoping to be the first to put down this new business (even before it opened), on this dreadfully positive thread. But unfortunately, you beat me to it.

My wife took my daughter in this morning and commented how well stocked and nice it was in there. She will definately be going back. Good luck and its good to see something other than another hairdressers opening.

Went in today - 'twas lovely, and the kids were impressed. Prices on par with expectations, hope they do well.

Remember, if we don't support our local shops and businesses, we'll get the high street we deserve.

Visited the shop today with 5 eager kids who now have a new favourite shop in Worcester Park. What a great addition to our high street. For a small shop the owners have packed in a fantastic array of toys and games. There is something at all price brackets from 'pocket money' toys to more expensive options. The owner mentioned they would match Amazon prices which is a great selling point and I think it will do well. We should encourage everyone to support it. The old-fashioned sweet jars are a nice feature and great fun for the kids to choose from the selection available. I wholeheartedly wish this venture well - so nice to see someone open a shop with imagination for a good original idea (not a nail bar, mini mart, hairdressers etc of which we are already over served) Good luck!

Agree with others, this is a lovely, well stocked shop with good quality toys at reasonable prices. Will definitely go there for gifts, and when my baby gets a bit older. I really hope it succeeds, a refreshing change from the glut of cheap off licences, tacky convenience stores and beauty salons.

Ahhhhhhh - Toy Haven - double-fronted if I remember. I once bought a fake cigarette there, when I was about 9, which blew powder from the end looking like smoke. On a trip to the launderette that evening with my Mum and my brother (he had one too) we were practising with our cigarettes. My Mum was shortly approached by a man also using the launderette who commented: "Do you know your children are smoking!!". Happy days.
