Resident Cockerel

What do Worcester Parkers think of the cockerel which seems to have taken up residence somewhere near Central Road? It can be heard from St Philips Avenue, Brinkley Road and Washington Road and this afternoon I heard it while in the Waitrose car park and then it sounded like it was coming from Lynwood Drive. Are there more than one? Have Tom and Barbara Good moved in? Is it more annoying than the ice cream van or a pleasant evocation of a relaxed life in the country?

I think it is wonderful to hear the cockerel, I was brought up on a farm in Wiltshire and it brings back so many memories, like living back in the country away from all the hustle and bustle of towns like Worcester Park, I don't know who it belongs to but I hope it stays for s good long time, it's lovely to hear it, long may it crow.

From St Philips Avenue I hear crowing every 10-15 seconds from 5 am until gone 10 am then starts up again around 4 pm. Can't sleep with windows open and our small child wakes at 5am and comes complaining to me that he can't sleep. Roll on the hot summer nights. You can imagine what I think of the cockerel even if it does evoke the occasional pleasant sound of the countryside!

Compared with loud 'music', noisy vehicles, people shouting into their yatter-phones, etc, the sound of this cockerel is pure delight.
I used to live next door to someone who kept chickens on an adjacent piece of land and the crowing of the cockerel presented no problem whatsoever. Anyone bothered by the Worcester Park ether being disrupted by a mere bird might care to engage in a little introspection.

i live nearly opposite, ive never heard it? i did used to love the sound of chickens in the morning that resided a few houses up from us, they seem to of stopped though, i guess the foxes got em.

On a separate matter our big Gray cat has gone walk about since Monday, if anyone spots him please contact the blog.

That's probably my other half, clearing their throat. Sorry about that.

Stick it on the roof of the ice-cream van. More pleasant than the tune that blares out.

It's not Lynwood Drive as apparently she's just moved with hers to the countryside! I don't mind it during the day but surely there's no need to make a derisory comment about my desire not to have my family woken in the very early hours? It will be a real pain when the nights are warm and we can't open our windows for a bit of air without being woken.
