The future of the annual event was in doubt after the event's organiser Terry Dobbs, Chairman of the Worcester Park Traders' Association, closed his One Stop Party Shop shortly after last year's event.
The organisation of the Christmas Late Night has now been taken on by Sutton Council (using money from the Mayor Of London's Outer London fund) in partnership with the Traders' Association.
Shoppers will be able to get a head start on their Christmas shopping in participating shops, whilst sampling traditional Christmas treats like roast chestnuts and mulled wine from a variety of market stalls.
Festive entertainment will include live carol performances from local pupils of Cuddington Community and Green Lane Primary Schools. Craft activities for children will be held in the pop-up-shop - You Are Here - at 44 Central Road.
Worcester Park will also get new Christmas lights on the streetlight columns as well as 10 trees along Central Road being lit up.
With under a fortnight to go until the big day, however, there is concern that the event will fail to benefit local traders, with many still unaware that the event is taking place.

Maybe this should be advertised more widely - I have just stumbled across this blogg - I live in Worcester park - old Malden side, we have recently moved here - it would be great to see more going on in Worcester Park, it needs a huge lift!
Make the most of this one. If the mosque gets approval Christmas won't be allowed in Worcester Park next year!
That seems to be the direction we're moving in. I've noted some Council literature declines to refer to 'Christmas lights', but instead, describes them as 'Festive Lights'.
However, on the plus side, there seems no similar reluctance to disguise any reference to 'Ramadan', so that's good news!
There are currently some lovely Christmas present goodies in the pop up shop at You are here (44 Central Rd) - well worth a visit, went in there today and picked up some gorgeous gifts!

An alarm system is a system of security equipment intended to keep a home/
business secured and safe. Although the main purpose of alarm systems is to provide
protection and security, they have a range of functions including intruder protection,
fire alarms, and medical emergency response capabilities. You could very well have an
alarm specialized in all three types of potential emergencies depending on your needs.
