Gone James

It's sad to see the demise of John James Gardening - one by one the independent stores that have helped Worcester Park retain it's character are dropping like flies, and Worcester Park now only has one resident retail parrot.

Perhaps we can all make an extra effort to support the ones that remain - whilst they still remain.

On which note, I am dying to support the new sushi place that's 'Opening Soon' in Windsor Road (near the Library), but it has been 'Opening Soon' for quite a few months now - and they've even managed to change the name of the takeaway once already.

I am been waiting for the Sushi place to open but I am sure the council is not making it easy for them.

I will miss the shop & JJ. They have been very generous with plants for the benefit of Worcester Park residents. This is a great loss for Worcester Park. Very sad. Best wishes go to the family.

If we're honest, we could all make rather more effort to support our local traders.

But it's much easier to drive to a superstore, then groan when a local trader closes and complain that local people (that is, other local people, who stood in front and behind in the checkout queue) should have done so much more to support our local traders.

Louis, given your rather abrasive attitude, I'm pretty sure your neighbours would like to say that same comment about you.

I spoke to a friendly lady who was in the Sushi shop about 4 weeks ago and she said that she was waiting on the council then before she could open, so Sutton Council procrastinating as usual.
