Of course I'm delighted to see that these cavernous empty premises are to be filled so quickly, and it will make a welcome change from the traditional fare of Italian restaurants and curry houses.
However, my fears about these premises remain. In my unfortunately prophetic post of June 2010 I wrote:
"No doubt the people behing 'Avventura' are full of optimism and hope that good food and good service will set see them through, but will they too soon be forced to face the reality that the place is simply far too big to be viable in anything other than rosy economic conditions?I look forward seeing this new venture succeed where its predecessors have failed. And I look forward even more to some Turkish food!
Perhaps Avventura will succeed where Piccolo failed. Perhaps they have found the formula that eluded their predecessors. Or perhaps they too will soon be learning the hard way that size really does matter. Either way, I wish them luck."

the one in kingston is excellent, hope this is the same standard
Yeah, Hopefully as good as Cappadocia in Kingston. Maybe we will get some belly dancing too :)
I like the suggestion of belly dancing to aid the digestion, Long Joe… so long as there are stringent restrictions on the sex and size of the belly.
Fair Point. I've put my top back on.
Looks like Cafe Medusa part is open. I will sound them out tomorrow and
try a coffee
Went to the restaurant New Years day.
Food was excellent.
Cafe is good too. Hope they do well
the cafe medusa which is owned by the same people needs to seriously up its game, went in this morning and the food was good the service was absolutely dire and i for one will not be going again.
Went their with my wife and our friends. It took 20 min before we were asked for our drinks. The food was not very good. The service was not very good. They had so many staff yet many didnt know what too do.Will not be going back.
I did complain by e-mail and recieved a response fairly quickly, am suprised that clearly nothing has improved, but the benifit of someone posting after me, means I certainly wont be giving it any second chances!!
I've been there a few times now. The first time was for lunch when it had just opened and I must admit that the staff although very friendly didn't really know what was what ~ but that has all changed now. I went again with my husband for dinner last week and we had a delicious meal ~ reasonably priced and lovely atmosphere. The cafe is great too. I much prefer it to the chain cafes, they have a healthier range of food and lovely smoothies. I'm beginning to sound as if I have a vested interest - which I don't - beyond not wanting to see another local business go to the wall. I say 'Good Luck Sheesh Mangal - you've got my vote'.
Have been there a few times and have to say the food is amazing!! My kids will no longer eat a kebab from anywhere else!! The service is a little disorganised however this is somethigb that can be improved and not such a big problem for me as the great quality of food outweighs this small problem....
Have been to the restaurant twice. Staff really friendly and helpful. Food was excellent, although not as good in a large group. Delighted that Worcester park has such a lovely healthy restaurant. We are already going back, and I feel that the staff need all our support. Well done and welcome. Sue
Have just had my second visit to sheesh Mangal and it was very good. Food good waiter friendly and although very busy we did not have to wait that long for our order to be taken. We were a party of six and all of us enjoyed the evening. I hope the people of worcester Park continue to frequent this restaurant. I know we will.
very good restaurant and tasty food. A bit unorganized, but they are all turkish so if you know their culture you understand! Good luck and success in hard times! def will go again!
The menu doesn’t really cater for 2-7 year old children. This is what has stopped us dining here. I had a shish take out and the meat was excellent. On my second visit the chicken donor is nothing special and very greasy but what did I expect. Chilli sauce does not have much chilli! All in all best Kebab on Central Road but there is not much competition. IMHO it has succeeded where the predecessor failed. Large portions at reasonable prices. Seems as though the Worcester Park crowd rather quantity over quality or somewhere in the middle hence why this place will do well in cash poor times.
Watch out!
you can be coned, if you are taking take away meal dont think the no.of boxes is the no. of meals you ordered because it will be all salad in it and thats rubbish as well, thats what happend with me, i ordered 2 different meals and pay for that, one box was salad only and the the other box was left over rice and half piece of kebab i went back all the way and found them closed. the service was worse than you can get any where inthe whole world, the left over food tastes like roten smelly junk which we had to throw away
