But the Environment Agency has issued a flood warning for Beverley Brook from Worcester Park to New Malden, so residents around Green Lane best get their wellies at the ready!

Its just taken me 25 mins to walk from Sutton station to the road next to it where I live. I have never seen anything like it!! It started pouring down, then hail stones (by which point I'd taken shelter in the Indian shop on the corner). Then decided to make a run for it and was greeted by literally rivers of water running down my road. I was calf deep in the water and just had to wade through, stopping at every house and taking refuge in their porches!! It wasn't just me but many commuters walking home.
PS. I know I'm not technically a WP resident but I grew up there and love this blog :)
we once lived in Caverleigh Way backing onto the field adjoining the Beverley Brook. Some 26 years ago the Brook flooded and we had water upto our back doors.the water was 3/4 deep over the field .too deep for wellies!!!! Now it might be worth keeping a boat in the back garden.
