Hair There & Everywhere

Hairdressers are, it seems, the new charity shops.

No sooner had I pondered whether WP needs a ninth hair salon (in the shape of 'HotHeadz', opening shortly next to the old Model Road & Rail shop) comes news that the tenth will be opening shortly in the old Samuel James estate agents unit.

Now, I like KIMS, Ciarans is good too, as is Sean Hanna, Hair By Fiko and 'Cut & Design'. But which is best.

There's only one way to find out. FIGHT!!!

Not in your original list making it the 11th, but The Tops gets my vote!

Haircutting Co at the top of the high street (used to be down the bottom near the Lloyds until it moved).

The legendary Bob is a WP institution and a fountain of WP history.

I know I first visited him some time in the mid 80s...anyone know how long he's been there?

At least they are not more charidee shops!

I go to Toka in North Cheam. Not enough choice on the high street...

It looks as if the salon opening in the old Samuel James is not only going to do hairdressing but beauty and nails to!!

Oh for god's sake.

I don't think thats such a bad thing, The Rose Spa is always so busy when I try and make appointments so maybe we could do with another Beauty salon!

TOKA IS THE BEST

From what I have heard from my daughter who has her hair cut by the girl that is opening the salon at the old Samuel James is that she isn't new to the area she used to operate from a beauty salon in Worcester Park but I believe she ran into a few problems with the owner and decided to open her own salon…..

Can't get a fillet tower meal at any of them though.

Haircutting co , aka Bob, has been in Worcester Park since the mid 70's (does he look that old )not only knows the history of wp but also tells a lot of good and bad jokes.

The beauty salon at the plough has a sign up saying 'haridressers wanted' obviously you can't get a haridresser outside of the high street for love nor money....

The Tops is the best and they have a lovely dog as well!

There is another beauty salon at the top of the High Street. There are really nice girls in there. Everyone should try it.

I agree with comments Chloe has made. I think she is talking about Amor Beauty at the top of the high street. I go there regularly and they are so nice and friendly and do a great job. I would also recommend it.

They make my toes curl, I wish they were all locked up and left to dye, and the highlights shown on telly. hairdressers are such a bunch of ("snip" - Ed.)

rose spa is the best! especially now they r doing mobile! at least u every1 can now have a bit of professionalism unlike over beauty salons on the high street!

I think the new Acacia is the best on the high street. I went into there because it was cheaper yet the standard of service is amazing whilst the girl that did my hair was fantastic. I paid 56 pound for a colour and cut wirh blow dry which is a quarter of most of the salons in worcester park. I can't see why people are moaning, wouldn't you rather the shop was full than sat there desolate and empty. Those who snipe against these new companies should be ashamed of themselves, yet i guarantee half the comments on this page are from bitter salon owners struggling to match there prices, preferring to stuff their pockets!

The Rose Spa is far the best salon on the high street offering a big selection of beauty treatments that you can not get in normal salons. Its very busy all the time so this is a good sign that they are doing well, and they have also started a mobile sevice to. Its very clean and has the best staff ever, very professinal, very relaxing!

Kim wins hands-down. Loved his work @ Eds in Colliers Wood so delighted when he opened his own place in WP.

I had my hair done today at hotheadz. I was very impressed by the new funky salon. All the staff were very welcoming and friendly and my hair looked wicked. I enjoyed my visit, will be booking again. They also do tans and nails which is good u can get it all done at once.

I see that Acacia Hair and Beauty have gone online, and their online prices for products seem very good as well.

Great to see local business growing - hopefully a sign of the economy recovering.

I have now tried EVERY hair salon in Central Road and my favourite by far is Acacia which is at the bottom of the high street. I made an appointment a few weeks ago for a Thursday evening after work and was overjoyed with my experience. The two girls that were working were lovely and friendly and the service I got was spot on! I got an amazing head massage from Nickey which was out of this world (just the job after a long day at the office and commute back) and the cut I got from Chelsea was exactly what I wanted -it's not often I walk out of a salon with what I asked for! I highly recommend this salon and will definitely be booking up again and may even try out a few beauty treatments whilst I'm there.

Kim's. But I'll admit I haven't tried anyone else since Kim's opened, and it's only a short, back and sides for me and the young 'un.

'HAS' Barbers by WP station is by far the best. Has is a very experienced barber and also does an excellent wet shave.
