Where were the Sutton gritters. noticeable by their abscence ,much like Kingston council's gritters .they only venture out to the extremities of their boroughs to assist their council tax payers when it is safe to do so.!!!!
Didn't Sutton sell their Gritters a couple of years ago? I saw a van with 4 blokes on the back chucking grit into the road outside Sainsburys in North Cheam on Sunday if that helps? I'm guessing that was one of the Sutton "gritters".
It seemed that the best Sutton council had to offer on monday morning was an old man wearing a Sutton council High-vis coat, carrying a broom on one shoulder and dragging a spade behind him. I didn't once see him do anything with either of these tools, just aimlessly walking around with them. Real effective.
Anyone know when they're coming to collect discarded xmas trees? We had a leaflet before christmas with the rubbish collection days on it, and at the bottom it said xmas tree collection starts from 12 Jan for I think 2 weeks. Still no sign of it and my tree remains uncollected along with the 2 just next to Sainsburys. Got a feeling I'll be getting rid of it myself.
Even though pretty much NONE of the local roads were gritted last week, i was in Sainsburys at the beginning of last week to find a gritting lorry, with people gritting each and every individual parking space in the carpark that had been exposed to the elements. Nice to see that they are getting their priorities right!!
