Wine Bar Rumours...

In May's monthly poll you voted it the landmark that you would most like to see wiped off the face of Worcester Park forever, but it may be all change for The Huntsman's Hall public house.

Sources tell the Worcester Park Blog that The Huntsman is due for a makeover in a few months time in a bid to take it more upmarket (well, it could hardly go further downmarket) and turn it from a pub of dubious repute into a trendy wine bar (with, erm, a children's playground at the back).

Watch this space!

I have drunk in the Huntsman on and off over the years (glutton for punishment) and no matter who runs the pub, what colour they paint it, it has always had the same idiots proping up the bar. It has alway had a bad reputation for a very good reason drugs and violence are entry level requirements. I feel for the fool who thinks turning it into a trendy wine bar will work. The deadbeats and chavs will either lurk next door in the cazbaar or stand in the "beer garden" looking bemused smoking and drinking as usual. Nothing short of a missile strike during Happy Hour would improve the place!!!!

spoke to the new guv'nor by chance in the cazbar the other day who says they are closing in October gutting the place, changing the name and reopening as a restaurant/ gastro pub - i wish them all the luck in the world, they are gonna need it!
